EPISODE 28: Writing and republishing a previous book
Welcome to the Rage Against the Manuscript podcast. Why unpublish a book and rewrite it? As authors, we all have unfinished series or books we feel didn’t get the chance to shine. I offer some tips for giving those neglected books a second lease on life.
Listen on Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.
In this episode:
Unpublishing a book – how to tell if a book doesn’t fit your author brand.
Storytime: My tales of chaos and mayhem from the world of rewriting and republishing earlier novels.
My current project: Rewriting and republishing a shared-world project novel.
How to rework an old novel for a newer market.
How to decide if republishing is the right goal for you?
“If you feel as though a book doesn’t fit your author brand, you could consider unpublishing it. This includes series you start and don’t finish. It might also include books you want to give a spruce – changing up covers, blurbs, etc. Sometimes a new cover = a new audience.
